Prince of Peace Christmas Card Set

with-twine-6-wm

Wow! Christmas is coming up quick!  While I do love many things about Christmas (especially the real reason for the season), the abundance of red is just not my style. So, going with a completely non-traditional color scheme of blues, browns, and golds, I created this watercolor Christmas card set: Since I was creating a card set, I did everything assembly-line style. I started out by stamping the focal image on several pieces of watercolor paper. Next, I added a few highlights with some quick watercolor. I then hand placed a few small star-shaped sequins, […]

Happy Thanksgiving!!

thankful-bookmark-1a

Hello!!  This is Amy here and today it is Thanksgiving in the USA.  It is my favorite holiday because of all the yummy food and that it also ushers in the Christmas season.  To celebrate, I made a new bookmark that reminds me to give thanks.  Take a look…. To create this bookmark, I water-colored some of the Art Play paintables from AdornIt.  I cut it out and then wrapped some Solid Marigold bakers twine around the top and accented it with a button.  Here is a closer look….. Here it is sticking out of […]

Handmade Holidays Blog Hop 2016

The Twinery is thrilled to once again be a sponsor of the Handmade Holidays blog hop! We’ve sponsored in the past and it has always been a great experience. This year, our designer Tifany is sharing some beautiful ornaments that she created using cut wood rounds as a base. These beautiful ornaments all use some form of paint technique (stencil, ombre, or both) and many have the addition of a little bit of bling in the form of sequins or buttons. And everything is all tied up with twine, of course! The ombre effect is not as […]

Friendship Poppy Card

Hi there. It’s Tobi Crawford here with a beautiful and simple friendship card. On November 11th we celebrate Remembrance Day in Canada, so in honour of that day, I used a poppy stamp.      As a Canadian I will always think of a poppy as symbolic of Nov. 11 (Flanders Field etc…) but it is such a beautiful flower on it’s own. I added a pale wash of watercolours in the background, and coloured the poppies with Copics using the “no-line” technique. I think it really made the flowers stand out. The black twine […]

Fall Napkin Placecards

fall-napkin-namecards-6-wm

Ooooh…isn’t it getting beautiful outside? The leaves are changing colors and the fall weather is finally starting to break through the heat.   When I think of fall…I think of food. (Or maybe I just always think of food.)   And what is a good meal without some cute decor to spruce up the table? Today I wanted to share these cute napkin ties that double as placecards for a fall meal: As I was walking through a craft store, those giant wooden buttons just screamed at me to make something with them, and I […]
