Need a necklace? No problem!

Hi there! It’s Tifany here and it’s no secret that I love using twine. I use it for crafting, of course, but I also love to use it for quick and easy jewelry. (You can see some past jewelry projects I’ve done with twine here, here, here, and here.) I love using The Twinery’s twine for jewelry because it is so soft and lightweight, and it adds a great pop of color. Recently I was looking for a last minute addition to my outfit, so I simply grabbed my spool of Solid Mandarin twine and […]

Machine Cording with Twinery Twine

Couching is an embroidery technique in which yarn or other materials are laid across the surface of the ground fabric and fastened in place with small stitches of the same or a different yarn. You can couch down Twinery twine the good old fashioned way, or you can get a handy little cording foot for your machine and sew away! I made a few fun St. Patricks day themed bar towels and will share with you some tips and tricks on making your own.  Supplies: Twinery Twine Cording Foot for your sewing machine Thread Disappearing Ink […]

Handmade Holidays :: Day 3

   Welcome to The Twinery blog! We are so excited to be participating in (and sponsoring) the Handmade Holidays blog hop. This is a fabulous hop and we have loved seeing all the handmade gift ideas! Aren’t they fabulous? Today, we have our designer and DT Coordinator Tifany sharing her great gift idea. Take it away, Tifany…  With four kids, let’s face it…I don’t have a lot of time to get my craft on. Quick and easy handmade gifts are right up my alley, and recently I have really enjoyed giving hand stamped cloth napkins. These […]

Photos Two & Three: Stamp your image(s) onto the cloth napkins with ink that will be permanent on fabric.  Photo Four: Use iron to heat set ink.    Next, use three strands of twine (one yard each) to create a braided twine tie. I used two strands of […]

Twine Net Drink Holder

Hi there! It’s Tifany and today I wanted to share with you a quick project that can be created using a Mini Bundle (15 yards) of The Twinery’s twine (I used the new tri-color Firecracker twine): To create the twine net for your mason jar, it is a fairly simple process of knotting. (I used a series of overhand knots.) I think these would be fun to create with a scouting troop! First, cut your 15 yard Mini Bundle into 10 strands (1 1/2 yards each). Then, knot as follows: Photos 1 & 2: Tie all 10 […]
