Teacher Gift Idea: I’m Totally Bananas!


It’s back to school time! 

With school supply shopping and new clothes shopping and everything else in between…it’s easy to forget the teacher!

We’ve got a great back to school Teacher Gift idea that’s easy & inexpensive, but totally yummy and worth giving!

What better way to start the year off right than to tell the new teacher that your child is TOTALLY BANANAS about being in his/her class this year?!

With some homemade Banana Muffins, that is! 

If your house is anything like ours, you may have a few bananas laying around the kitchen…use them to whip up some scrumptious banana muffins for the teacher (apples are SO last year)!

We are absolutely in love with the Buttermilk Banana Bread recipe from Shelley over at The House of Smiths

And when we say “love”…it may or may not have been a love that has added a few extra pounds! We make this banana bread all of the time – it’s the absolute BEST!

All you need to do is…

Bake the yummy muffins and package them up with our free printable gift tags and pretty twine – of course – and voila! 

We put the muffins on a white melamine plate that we found at a local store for under $2 and used clear cellophane wrap to package it all up.

Easy Peasy Teacher Gift.

    Thanks for the adorable printable. I had trouble with the recipe though! I made it as written, then again reducing the butter to 1/2c. Both times I had a greasy mess. The muffins weren’t all that greasy, but the cupcake papers and muffin tins were totally greasy. Okay for my family but unacceptable for gifts! So I will try this again using a different recipe, but packaging with your adorable tag. I’m curious what went wrong.
    I’m no expert but I’m thinking… maybe the steps need to be amended as follows: CREAM butter and sugar, ADD buttermilk than eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition, MIX in mashed banana, MIX in DRY ingredients to WET in three batches, scraping down after each addition. Maybe try adding some vanilla and cinnamon for a bit more flavor?
